1. Agreement to these Terms
SightFlow Piano (“SightFlow,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the website and browser application at sightflow.art (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility and use by minors
You must be legally capable of agreeing to these Terms. If you have not reached the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf and supervise your use. Children who are not old enough to consent to online data processing under applicable law may use the Service only with a parent or guardian’s permission and supervision.
3. The Service
SightFlow provides generated sight-reading exercises, curriculum lessons, MIDI and computer-keyboard input, browser-based audio, performance feedback, locally stored progress, and tools for opening supported music-score files. Features may be incomplete, experimental, inaccurate, unavailable on some devices, or changed over time.
SightFlow has a Free plan and a paid plan, SightFlow Pro. An account is optional for the Free plan and required for Pro.
4. SightFlow Pro, billing, and cancellation
The Free plan includes 15 minutes of practice a day, the Foundations tier of the Journey, a starter selection of repertoire, and separate treble and bass staves in the generator. SightFlow Pro adds unlimited daily practice, every tier of the Journey, the complete repertoire library, the grand staff generator, the adaptive level assessment, and importing your own scores.
Pro costs US $9.99 per month or US $89.99 per year. Sales tax, VAT, or GST is calculated at checkout based on your location, and the checkout shows the total before you pay. There is no free trial; your first payment is taken when you subscribe.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Your purchase is also subject to the Paddle Buyer Terms.
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period, and Paddle charges your saved payment method until you cancel. If we change the price, we will tell you before it applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
You can cancel at any time with Manage subscription in Preferences or with the link in any email from Paddle about your subscription. Cancellation stops future renewals. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for, and then your account returns to the Free plan. Your progress is kept.
If a renewal payment fails, Paddle retries it and emails you about updating your payment method. You keep Pro while Paddle retries. If the payment is not recovered, the subscription is canceled and your account returns to the Free plan.
Deleting your account cancels your subscription immediately, and Pro access ends at once. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
5. Accounts and registration
You may continue as a guest or register with Google OAuth or an email magic link. You must provide an email address you are authorized to use and keep access to that email account and your sign-in links secure. Notify us at varnavsky06@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your SightFlow account.
You are responsible for activity under your account, subject to applicable law. We may suspend or terminate an account to address abuse, unauthorized access, legal requirements, or serious or repeated violations of these Terms. You can delete your account at any time in Preferences, or request deletion using the contact instructions in the Privacy Policy. Deleting your account also cancels any Pro subscription, as described in Section 4.
6. Permission to use SightFlow
Subject to these Terms, SightFlow grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to access and use the Service for personal, household, or educational practice. This permission does not transfer ownership of the Service or any SightFlow content to you.
7. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use the Service unlawfully or to violate another person’s rights.
- Upload or open material that you do not have the right to use.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, bypass, probe, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure.
- Introduce malware, malicious code, or files intended to damage or interfere with a device or service.
- Use automated means to scrape, harvest, or extract substantial portions of the Service except as permitted by applicable law or our written consent.
- Misrepresent affiliation with SightFlow or use SightFlow branding in a way likely to cause confusion.
- Use the Service to develop, test, or operate a system where failure could reasonably cause death, personal injury, or serious property or environmental damage.
8. Your score files and practice data
You retain whatever rights you already hold in files and practice data that you load into SightFlow. You represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to use each imported score. Opening a file in the Service does not give you permission to copy, perform, distribute, or otherwise use copyrighted music beyond the rights granted by its owner or by law.
Supported score contents and detailed practice records are processed locally as described in the Privacy Policy. You do not grant SightFlow a license to the contents of a locally processed score. Limited event metadata may be sent to our analytics provider, including an imported file’s name, extension, and bar count; see the Privacy Policy for details.
Guest progress is stored only on your device and may be lost if browser data is cleared, storage limits are reached, or you change devices. Signed-in accounts sync supported progress and preferences through Supabase across devices. Sync requires an internet connection and may be delayed or unavailable; keep your own backups of data you cannot afford to lose. Imported score contents and detailed note-by-note practice records remain local as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. SightFlow content and intellectual property
The Service, including its original software, interface, visual design, branding, generated-exercise systems, text, graphics, curriculum, and other original material, is owned by SightFlow or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party software, fonts, icons, music, and other materials remain subject to their respective licenses and ownership.
“SightFlow” and associated logos and visual identity may not be used in a way that suggests endorsement, affiliation, or ownership without permission. Nothing in these Terms limits rights granted under an applicable open-source license or rights that cannot lawfully be restricted.
10. Music and repertoire
Built-in repertoire may include public-domain compositions, new arrangements, and material supplied under license. Copyright can differ by composition, arrangement, edition, recording, and country. The availability of a work in SightFlow is not a representation that every use of that work is unrestricted in your jurisdiction.
11. Educational results and automated feedback
SightFlow is a practice aid, not an accredited course, examination body, or substitute for individualized instruction from a qualified teacher. Scores, stars, timing classifications, adaptive tempo, and generated difficulty are automated estimates and may be incomplete or incorrect. We do not guarantee fluency, examination results, a particular rate of progress, continuous psychological flow, or any other learning outcome.
Use your own judgment and stop or adjust your practice if an exercise causes pain, strain, fatigue, or discomfort. Protect your hearing by beginning at a low audio volume and increasing it cautiously.
12. MIDI, browser, and device compatibility
MIDI input, browser audio, file import, timing precision, and other features depend on your browser, operating system, hardware, permissions, drivers, latency, and device configuration. We do not guarantee that every MIDI device, score file, browser, or accessibility technology will work correctly. You are responsible for connecting and operating your equipment safely and according to its manufacturer’s instructions.
13. Feedback
If you voluntarily send ideas or feedback, you permit SightFlow to use, adapt, and incorporate it without restriction or payment, provided this does not transfer ownership of your existing music, score files, or other pre-existing material. Do not send confidential information as feedback.
14. Third-party services and links
The Service relies on or may link to third-party services, software, and websites, including Vercel, Supabase, Paddle for payments, and Google Identity Services when you choose Google sign-in. We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for their content, availability, security, or practices. Your use of a third-party service may be governed by separate terms and privacy notices.
15. Changes, suspension, and termination
We may add, remove, restrict, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, temporarily or permanently. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect the Service, users, or third parties; comply with law; investigate abuse; or enforce these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time, delete locally stored data through your browser settings, and delete your account in Preferences. If we discontinue SightFlow Pro, we will refund the unused part of any prepaid subscription period.
16. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” SightFlow and its contributors disclaim all express, implied, and statutory warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and freedom from harmful components. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or compatible with every device or file.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. In those jurisdictions, these exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by law, and mandatory consumer guarantees remain unaffected.
17. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SightFlow and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, progress, revenue, profits, goodwill, or use, arising from or related to the Service, even if advised that such damage was possible.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SightFlow’s total liability for all claims arising from or related to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid SightFlow for the Service during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim or US $100.
These limitations do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable law prohibits that exclusion.
18. Applicable law and disputes
These Terms are governed by applicable law determined under the relevant conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these Terms deprives a consumer of mandatory protections or access to a court or dispute process that cannot be waived under the law where that consumer lives.
19. General terms
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Refund Policy form the entire agreement between you and SightFlow concerning the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the remaining provisions will continue in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a reorganization, financing, merger, acquisition, or transfer of the Service. Section headings are for convenience only.
20. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will post the revised Terms here and update the date above. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice where reasonably possible. Your continued use after revised Terms take effect means you accept them; if you do not agree, stop using the Service.
